Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about SEDS II and StitchTools embroidery software — system requirements, licensing, ordering, formats and more. Can’t find your answer? Email us at support@sewgoodsoftware.com and we’ll respond promptly.
Which Windows versions does the software support?
SEDS II and StitchTools are fully compatible with both 64-bit and 32-bit computers running Windows 7 and later versions.
What are the minimum system requirements?
A dual-core or faster processor, 4 GB of memory, an integrated graphics card, a 128 GB SSD or 500 GB HDD, a color printer, a color scanner, and an available USB slot.
I get a “Security Device Not Found” error when starting the program. What is wrong?
Our software is protected by a USB security dongle. Make sure it is securely plugged into a USB slot. If you do not have a dongle, your copy is probably pirated — please contact us immediately. Otherwise, re-install the software using the installation CD and Master Key diskette provided at purchase.
What happens if I lose my security dongle?
The dongle effectively is the license — a lost dongle means the software can no longer be used, and we cannot provide a replacement. Please take good care of it.
My security dongle is damaged. Can it be replaced?
Yes, for a fee, and the damaged dongle must be returned to us first.
How do I order?
Email us at sales@sewgoodsoftware.com with the product you are interested in, or use our contact page — we will reply with current pricing and ordering instructions. Orders are usually shipped within 1 business day after payment clears.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is typically $19 for FedEx 2-day and $29 for FedEx next-day within the continental US. Special arrangements can be made on request.
What file formats can the software read and write?
SEDS II and StitchTools view designs in most popular machine formats — DST, FMC, FDR, EXP, CND, TAP, PEC, PES, PCS, PCM, HUS and SEW — and output to the same list, including Tajima DST.
Can I try the software before buying?
Yes — every product has a free demo version. Register on our demos page to download. Demos have some functions disabled (such as saving and printing) and are not covered by support.
I cannot save or print from my demo version. Is it broken?
No — demo versions intentionally have output functions removed. This lets you evaluate every feature safely without a license. Purchase the full version to unlock saving and printing.
Do you offer additional pre-digitized fonts?
Yes — over 60 professionally digitized fonts are available for purchase beyond those included with StitchTools. See the StitchTools page for details, or contact us.
How do I activate a font after purchasing it?
Under the Tools menu, choose “Activate fonts” and enter the activation code that was emailed to you after your purchase.
Where can the fonts I buy be used?
Fonts purchased from us work in SEDS II, StitchTools, and StitchTools Lettering 2.0.
Can I buy StitchTools optional features later?
Yes — optional add-on functions (such as Photo Stitch) can be purchased at any time after your initial purchase.
There is an error when installing the software. What should I check?
Follow the step-by-step installation note included with your package. You will need the installation CD, the Master Key diskette, the security dongle, and a free USB slot.
Do you offer dealer or wholesale pricing?
Yes — both businesses and individuals can become dealers, and we offer highly competitive dealer terms. Contact us to discuss.
